Hi, I'm Diana, founder of The Magic Shoebox. Over the last few years I've found that the best way to keep connected with my family and friends scattered all over the world, is by sharing photos.
With digital cameras and smartphones, sharing your news is easier than ever. But what about those older memories - from when you backpacked around the world, when you were at University, that big wedding day, when you were at school or the polaroids of you as a kid growing up?
If you're anything like me, those memories are captured in thousands of wonderful old print photos that lie dormant in big thick albums at the bottom of bookshelves, or gather dust in shoeboxes in a cupboard. Scanning photos one by one on a home scanner is painful and usually requires a degree in rocket science - so no one does it.
It was after I shared some grainy scans of old school photos on Facebook and saw my network go wild with comments and likes that I realised we needed a better way to help busy people get their old prints scanned so that they were safe from potential disasters and could be shared with friends and family.
And so The Magic Shoebox was born.
